Bike2DC Law Enforcement Bike Ride
CHARLOTTE, NC- Back in 2007, 6 individuals from CMPD decided to honor Officer Sean Clark and Officer Jeff Shelton by riding their bicycles from Charlotte, NC to our Nation’s Capital for National Police Week.
In 2018, 70 cyclists will honor not only Sean and Jeff but will also remember the 129 law enforcement officers that died in the line of duty in 2017.
The ride is over 500 miles and takes four days to complete.
Once in D.C., all the cyclists will attend the national Candlelight Vigil held every May 13th to remember our Nation’s heroes.
There will be a ceremony at CMPD headquarters at 8:00 a.m., on Wednesday, May 9th to welcome the cyclists and kick off the event.
