LANCASTER, SC — The family of a woman killed in an officer-involved shooting in Lancaster doesn’t believe the investigation findings.  Three deputies were responding to a 911 call about a woman driving drunk on Grace Avenue last week.

The sheriff’s report says Ingrid Mayer told deputies, “This is about to be suicide by cop,” before she rammed her car into a patrol car.  The report says at one point, Mayer hit one of the deputies with her door.  Mayer’s family tells us the report is false.

Witnesses talked to us the day of the shooting.  “The deputies told me before everybody got here that, ah, she was trying to run over an officer, is what he told me,” said Darrell Willis of Lancaster.

Deputy Glenn Reams fired two shots at Mayer before she crashed her car into a ditch.  He’s on desk duty until SLED finishes its investigation.  Deputy Luke Bundrum and Deputy Shane Black are back on patrol.
