CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A South Mecklenburg High School student has been arrested for bringing an air gun to school Thursday.
According to a message sent by South Mecklenburg principal Dr. Maureen Furr, the student was found in possession of a weapon during a routine search. The student attempted to leave school but was caught by CMPD officers.
In the letter, Dr. Furr says no students were threatened or placed in danger during the incident.
The student will face school-based consequences as well as probable legal charges.
