CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers have placed running back Fozzy Whittaker on injured reserve after Whittaker tore his ACL earlier this week.
The injury occurred Monday in a non-contact drill during the team’s off season workout program.
Whittaker, 29, signed with Carolina in 2014 and has been used primarily as a third-down back and kick returner.
The Panthers announced the signing of running back Kenjon Barner on Friday. The other running backs currently on the roster are C.J. Anderson, Christian McCaffrey, Cameron Artis Payne, and Elijah Hood.
