The Edge: TSA stops Marine who packed a live round

PALM SPRINGS, CA- A U.S. Marine is under investigation after TSA agents at Palm Springs International Airport found a live 25-millimeter explosive round in his checked luggage during screening. Authorities destroyed the explosive out in the desert. The service member told police he thought it was dormant. Police have turned the case over to prosecutors, and the Marine now faces possible charges and military discipline.
