Union Co. Public Schools teacher arrested on felony charge of indecent liberties with a child

UNION CO., N.C. – A Union County teacher is accused of a sex crime against a child. 31-year-old Zackary Winchester is charged with felony indecent liberties with a child. His arrest warrant says the child involved is under 16 years old.

Union County Public Schools says Winchester has been a teacher at Benton Heights Elementary since 2016. The alleged incident does not involve a student at Benton Heights.

Winchester is on administrative leave.
