Original C-3PO head sells for over $1 million at auction

The Holy Grail of sci-fi collectibles has been sold. 

A Star Wars fan paid a hefty price at auction for the original C-3PO head. It was used in the iconic 1980 film “The Empire Strikes Back,” and features light-up eyes and the original wiring.

Auction expectations were between $350,000 and $700,000 for the prop. 

The lucky bidder paid more than $1 million for the decapitated droid.
