KINGS MOUNTAIN, NC — Police have identified the man they say robbed a bank shortly after noon Thursday, and say he’s still on the loose.
The robbery happened around 12:16pm at the Bank of the Ozarks on W. Mountain Street. Police say Joseph Lee Short entered the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money.
Short then took off on foot.
Short is described as a white male, between 5’8″ and 5’11,” and 170 to 190 pounds. He has light red facial hair and gauges in his earlobes..
He was last seen wearing a black Adidas baseball cap, black t-shirt, faded blue jeans, and black and white sneakers.
Police say Short may be armed. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Kings Mountain Police at 704-730-2119 or Crime Stoppers at 704-481-TIPS.
