The law enforcement procession started at CMPD headquarters, and ended at First Baptist Church on South Davidson Street.
Captain Antony Stancil was killed will working off duty 20 years ago.
His wife says the support in the community is bittersweet.
“Taking part of this is an honor and just remembering those who have fallen and given their ultimate sacrifice is a loss for words,” says Stephanie Stancil.
Captain’s Stancil’s son, Lee, now works for the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office. He was 2 years old when his father was murdered.
