CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle in north Charlotte overnight.
On May 20, 2018 at 12:31 a.m., CMPD officers were called to reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle in the 2000 block of N. Graham Street. Upon
Arriving officers located an unconscious black male lying in the road.
MEDIC took the victim to Carolinas Medical Center-main with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the vehicle failed to stop or return to the scene.
Detectives determined that the pedestrian was crossing in a portion of the roadway that is not marked for pedestrian crossing and was struck in the left northbound lane of travel. The suspect vehicle was last seen traveling north on N. Graham Street.
It does not appear that speed is a factor in this case. It is unknown if alcohol played a role for the driver.
Witnesses stated the suspect vehicle is possibly a silver sedan.
