Country Superstar Blake Shelton Plays Free Pop Up Concert In Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Country superstar Blake Shelton was in the Queen City Wednesday. There was a free pop-up concert at a venue he played at the beginning of his career.

Almost 3,000 people packed the house at Coyote Joe’s to see Blake Shelton. He played here as an emerging artist before he got his big break.

Hundreds lining up at the crack of dawn Wednesday, to get wristbands for the free pop-up concert. Then waiting in the heat and humidity until the doors opened.

For one man, Blake Shelton’s music is a tribute, to a love he lost. James Silver waited in line alone, telling WCCB he came to hear Blake sing to honor his late wife.

“I’ve been through a lot since she died. I can’t listen to Blake too much anymore. I start crying you know,” says Silver.
