Family Says Its Amazon Echo Secretly Recorded A Private Conversation

You may want to think twice about what you say around Alexa.
An Oregon family says their Amazon device secretly recorded a private conversation in her home.
She found out after it sent the recording to one of her husband’s employees and the employee called to warn them.
The woman says every room in her house is wired with a voice-controlled device.
Her family uses them for everything: from turning up the heat, to turning off the lights.
She says she’s now unplugged every device and wants Amazon to give her a refund.

The company released a statement:

“Amazon takes privacy very seriously.
We investigated what happened and determined this was an extremely rare occurrence.
We are taking steps to avoid this from happening in the future.”
