Burn ban goes into effect on Monday for all Mecklenburg County parks

MECKLENBURG CO., N.C. – Starting Monday, a mandatory burn ban goes into effect across all Mecklenburg County parks.

It comes as dry conditions raise the risk for fast moving wildfires. County officials say the move is all about protecting visitors, staff, and the parks themselves. The ban will stay in place until things safely cool down.

A state-wide burn ban across North Carolina is still in effect.
