Car Washed Off Road As Heavy Rains, Flooding Cause Major Problems For Drivers

MORGANTON, NC — Downed power lines and blocked roads caused major problems for drivers Wednesday.

A car washed off Spainhour Road into a water-filled ditch after heavy rains caused flooding throughout the area. People who saw the car get swept away say they were scared trying to drive home.

“It was at least 3/4 the way at my tire when I came through it and I had another guy he was on the side it would come through,” says resident Jacob Coffey. “It’s dangerous I mean especially like last night when they didn’t have a blocked off everything I had a car behind me.”
