6 arrested, including teen, after dispute leads to shooting at Statesville home

STATESVILLE, N.C. – Five adults and a 16-year-old juvenile were arrested after shooting into a home in Statesville, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

It happened Thursday at a home on Branchwood Road. Deputies said the suspects shot into an occupied residence and fled in a white BMW.

The shooting stemmed from an altercation that happened earlier that day at a business in downtown Statesville, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies tracked down the suspects’ vehicle and arrested five adults and the 16-year-old. They searched the vehicle and found a pistol and several shell casings.

All suspects were charged with discharging a firearm into occupied property, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, conspiracy, and injury to personal property. Deputies said the juvenile was charged as an adult.

The adult suspects were also charged with contributing to delinquency of a minor. They are being held without bond.

Additional charges may be forthcoming.
