Three men arrested in Sugar Creek clean-up effort plead not guilty to federal charges

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Three men who were arrested during a raid at a northeast Charlotte hotel last week were back in court on Tuesday.

Marcus Logan, Michael Boatwright, and Naquan Smith all pleaded not guilty to federal charges.

Last week, CMPD and the FBI arrested ten people outside of the Garden Inn on Reagan Drive in Sugar Creek. The arrests followed a six-month investigation.

Officials say the investigation found a slew of illegal activity happening at the hotel, ranging from illegal guns to drugs to violence to prostitution.
