CONCORD, N.C. – A 17-year-old accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend’s father during an argument appeared in court on Wednesday.
According to Concord Police, Keshaun Tirrell Degraffenreid shot and killed 47-year-old Lester Earl Jones along Bedlington Drive Northwest around 12:30 a.m. on Monday, June 1.
A 16-year-old girl was also hurt in the shooting.
Police say the suspect and teen girl were dating and had an argument that escalated into an assault.
Degraffenreid will be charged as an adult on the following charges:
- First-degree murder
- Assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury
- Misdemeanor crime of domestic violence
- Resisting officers
- Possession of marijuana
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
