9 escaped horses recovered, 1 still missing in Iredell County

Iredell County Animal Services has recovered nine of the 10 horses that escaped from its owners in Iredell County in May.

Officials in Iredell County said the 10 wild mustangs escaped from a local property on May 11. On May 20, Iredell County Animal Services safely captured seven of the missing 10.

The horses’ owners have been charged for failing to properly confine the herd, and for not providing the required cooperation during recovery efforts.

One horse is still missing. Anyone that finds the horse is asked to not try to capture it and to contact Animal Services or local law enforcement immediately.
