Family searching for answers after Charlotte father is missing nearly two weeks
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A family is desperate for answers after a father has been missing for nearly two weeks. Thirty-eight year old Carlos Aristoteles was last seen walking in East Charlotte on May 23rd. Flowers and candles now sit at the door of his apartment.
βI believe high possibility is that somebody did hurt my brother,β Ana Tiznado, Carlos’ sister said. βAgain, there’s no other explanation why my brother has nowhere to be seen and he would not leave his dog to die in this apartment.β
Aristoteles was last seen May 23rd walking near his apartment on Farm Pond Lane close to Albemarle Road. He’s is 5’7 200 pounds and has several tattoos on his face and hands. The family started their own investigation to piece things together.
βI’ve been personally interviewing people, the community asking for surveillance, cameras, posting flyers, looking in. We went into the creek back here just looking for areas, wherever the community is directing me to look and ask for him,β Tiznado said.
Aristoteles has two young children. Their mother says her last conversation with him was about the future and baptizing the kids.
βHe checks on our babies three times a day, maybe more,β Shaelynn Espitia, Carlos’ Partner said. βHe’s constantly FaceTiming them, checking on them. He loves them so much and he would never leave them behind under any circumstances.β
Police are asking for the public’s help in the missing person investigation. Police say Aristoteles is dealing with mental illness and going through life issues.
βI don’t believe for one second that my brother had a mental episode, or sorry, something along those lines because I kept contact with him every day,β Tiznado said.
His sisters say they will continue working with police to find answers. Detectives visited the family while our WCCB crew was there.
βI’m grateful to have their support. However, I know that we wouldn’t get this far if it wasn’t for me coming here and for my family to supporting and being here and doing this in person,β Tiznado said.
His family says Aristoteles was working at Black Cloud Tattoo on South Boulevard. They say he even had appointments set up with clients. If you know where he might be call 911.
