Missing Charlotte man found dead in ecological preserve about 45 miles from where he was last seen

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A missing Charlotte man has been found dead in Rowan County. Salisbury Police say the body of 38-year-old Carlos Aristoteles was found Wednesday afternoon in a remote area of an ecological preserve on the campus of Catawba College.

Aristoteles was last seen May 23rd walking near his apartment on Farm Pond Lane in east Charlotte. We spoke with his family who say he would not disappear on his own. His partner, Shaelynn Espitia, says “He checks on our babies three times a day, maybe more. He’s constantly FaceTiming them, checking on them. He loves them so much and he would never leave them behind under any circumstances.”

Family members say Aristotles leaves behind two young children.
