CMPD investigating after 17-year-old girl is killed in Saturday night car crash

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Friends and family are remembering a teenager killed in an east Charlotte car crash. A GoFundMe page has been set up for the mother of 17-year-old Angelina Chicas.

Police say Chicas was turning off North Sharon Amity Road near Tarrywood Lane when her car was hit by another car. It happened around 9:15 Saturday night.

Chicas died at the hospital. The other driver was also taken to the hospital but is expected to survive. The crash is still being investigated.
