CMPD investigating homicide, say victim suffered trauma but won’t reveal cause of death

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating a homicide in northwest Charlotte. It happened around 9:30 Thursday morning on Ciera Nichole Court, off Valleydale Road.

Investigators say they arrived to find the victim suffering from apparent trauma, but haven’t released details on how the victim was killed. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

CMPD Major Tori Tellis says, “De-escalation is what the message is going to be. Try to resolve situations with words as opposed to physical violence. If you need help, please reach out.”

Police are calling this a domestic situation. They won’t say if they’ve made any arrests, but do say they aren’t looking for anyone.
