New Bill Could Mean Fewer Tests For NC Students
Fewer tests for students in North Carolina? Lawmakers are considering a new bill that could do just that. Parents and teachers have been complaining for years that there’s too much testing for students. The testing starts in Kindergarten and ramps up in third grade. State Senator Jeff Tarte says Physicians and psychologists have told him it’s “developmentally cruel” to make third grade students take exams.
Other lawmakers put the blame for the amount of testing on local school districts.
