Women arrested for drug trafficking in Alexander County
HICKORY, N.C. – Two women are facing drug trafficking charges following a traffic stop in Alexander County, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies conducted the traffic stop Wednesday on Hubbard Road near Bethlehem, North Carolina. During the stop, 201 grams of methamphetamine were found inside the vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.
Both occupants of the vehicle, 49-year-old Kandra Vang and 37-year-old Mai See Hang, were taken into custody.
They have been charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Vang was also charged with driving while license revoked and driving left of center.
Vang and Hang are being held in the Alexander County Detention Center with a $500,000 secured bond.
