CMPD captures suspect the day after after he eludes them during five hour SWAT standoff
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have made an arrest after a SWAT situation in east Charlotte last week. 28-year-old David Caldwell is facing several charges including assault by strangulation, second degree kidnapping, and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Police spent almost five hours on Wednesday looking for Caldwell at an apartment complex on Kelston Place off Albemarle Road. He was not there.
We’re told CMPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team tracked down and arrested Caldwell on Thursday.
