ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. β The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in an attempted murder investigation. 58-year-old, Paula Marlowe has been arrested after the investigation into an incident at 880 Needmore Road.
Rowan County Sheriff’s Deputies responded the intersection of Godbey Road and Woodleaf Road near Highway 70. Deputies found Jerry Marlowe being treated for a laceration extending from his neck to his shoulder.
Investigators interviewed Paula Marlowe who confessed to assaulting her husband. According to her statement, she intended to kill him, set the residence on fire and take her own life due to financial difficulties.
Jerry Marlowe survived the attack after sustaining serious injuries and is currently expected to recover.
Paul Marlowe has been charged with attempted first-degree murder. This incident remains under investigation.
