West Charlotte shooting now a homicide case after woman dies

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A west Charlotte shooting investigation is now a homicide case, after 27-year-old Marle Naomi Fleming died from her injuries on Tuesday. CMPD officers found Fleming and another victim shot Sunday morning on Wabash Avenue. The second victim survived. Police identified 25-year-old Marques Fleming as the suspect.

Following a multi-agency manhunt, the FBI SWAT team arrested him Tuesday in Loganville, Georgia. He now awaits extradition to Mecklenburg County.
