CALDWELL COUNTY, N.C. — Officials say Caldwell County water customers are seeing sediment in their water due to several different incidents.
Customers near the new William Lenoir Middle School are seeing sediment in their water because of construction and replacement of water lines near the roundabout being constructed on Highway 90.
Grace Chapel area customers are seeing sediment due to flow tests being conducted on hydrants by the Grace Chapel Fire Department as part of state requirements.
County water customers in the Dudley Shoals area have seen sediment due to low water levels in the Draco holdign tank.
Officials expect the water in all three areas to clear up in the next few days. County staff have tested the water and determined it is safe but concerned customers can boil the water for two minutes before drinking or drink bottled water.
