KERSHAW, SC — The Lancaster County Coroner’s Office has identified the driver killed in Monday morning’s accident.
Officials say 61-year-oldΒ Raylene Joan Greenhill, of Melbourne, Australia, died after colliding with a dump truckΒ near the intersection of Nature Reserve Road and Gold Mine Highway around 5:25am.
Troopers say Greenhill was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Colorado when she crossed the center line of US 601 and hit the dump truck head-on. The dump truck ran into a culvert on the right side of the road, while troopers say Greenhill’s vehicle went into a wooded area and struck several trees.
Greenhill was pronounced dead on the scene.
Officials say both drivers were wearing seat belts when the accident occurred. The driver of the dump truck was taken to Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster for treatment.
The investigation is ongoing.
