Β KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — Lillie McLendon, 87, who was rushed to CMC-Northeast after being pulled from the fire that happened at 1002 N Ridge Ave has now died.Β
McLendon’s husband, 82 year old Paul McLendon was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS shortly after 2:30 a.m. Monday.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the two people unconscious inside the home and were taken outside and given CPR.Β
Kannapolis Fire Department, Cabarrus County EMS, Landis Fire Department, Concord Fire department, Enochville and Odell Fire Department were at the scene.Β
The scene is still under investigation by Fire crews and the Kannapolis Police Department. No word yet on what caused the fire.Β
