HAYWOOD COUNTY, NC — An Amber Alert was issued Thursday night for a 1-year-old boy who was allegedly abducted by a 26-year-old woman.
Authorities are looking for Jonathan Lee Vaughan who is described as a white male, around 2 feet 2 inches, 30 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes.
According to deputies, Vaughan is believed to have been abducted by his biological mother, Brittany Nicole Sanford. She is described as a white female, 5 feet 7 inches, 130 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes.
Sanford is also a non-custodial parent, officials say.
Sanford and Vaughan were last seen Tuesday at The McDonalds on Russ Avenue in Waynesville, according to officials. She was reportedly driving a white 2015 Lexus RX350 with North Carolina license plate EFN7785.
