One Injured After Roof Collapse At UNCC’s New Batting Facility
CHARLOTTE, NC — The roof of a new indoor training facility at the UNC Charlotte baseball field collapsed while workers were putting up trusses Friday afternoon.
The accident happened around 3:50pm at the building on Phillips Road. The building is currently under construction, and two crewman were reportedly working on trusses for the roof when they collapsed.
Officials say one of the workers fell to the ground, and was taken to CMC with non-life threatening injuries.
An investigation into what caused the collapse is underway, and the construction site has been closed.
