MONROE, N.C. – Deputies in Union County are asking for the public’s help in locating a teen wanted for attempted murder, according to the sheriff’s office.
Xemetryes James Bennett Jr. is wanted in connection to an ongoing investigation but deputies did not say more about the incident. He has a secured custody order for attempted murder, armed robbery, and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
Investigators believe Bennett is in the Monroe or Wingate area. He is considered armed and dangerous, and citizens are asked not to approach him if you see him.
Anyone with information on Bennett’s whereabouts is asked to call the Union County Sheriff’s Office at 704-283-3789. Information leading to his arrest may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,500.
