Two Charlotte moms sue the US government after encounter with border patrol agents

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Two Charlotte moms have filed a $2.5 million federal claim against the U.S. government following a terrifying encounter with border patrol agents last November.

Tatyana Reisini and Kristen Roos say the incident happened during Operation Charlotte’s Web. According to the moms, they were monitoring and documenting local immigration agents when they claim officers chased them down a street. Video shows an agent smashing their car window with a rifle. The women say they were then zip-tied and arrested at gunpoint.

They were charged with assaulting a federal agent. The U.S. Attorney’s Office later dismissed those charges. The Southern Coalition for Social Justice filed the notice of claim on the women’s behalf on Tuesday.
