Grand Jury indicts man on child sexual abuse material charges

GASTON CO., N.C. – A federal grand jury has indicted a man accused of child sexual exploitation.

41-year-old Francisco Ortiz is charged with ten counts of producing child sex abuse material. Prosecutors say he’s in the country illegally from Mexico. The indictment also alleges Ortiz unlawfully possessed several guns and a rifle.

The crimes allegedly happened in Gaston County. If convicted, Ortiz faces anywhere from 15 to 325 years in prison.
