Waves of rain, isolated flooding possible
Unsettled through Saturday
Flash Flood Watch in effect for most of the area through the day today. Overall, 1 to 2 inches of rain is expected with localized higher amounts.
Forecast:
Thursday: The cold front is very slowly making its way south this morning. Locations around I 40 have been seeing waves of rain for hours now so isolated flooding across the foothills is possible over the next couple of hours. Eventually, the rain will make it to the Piedmont. By this afternoon, I’m expecting the band containing waves of rain to set up over Charlotte. Overall 1 to 2 inches of rain is possible with localized higher amounts.
Temperatures will be falling as we head through the afternoon. We have already reached our high temperature today.
Friday: Partly sunny. Highs in the upper 70s. Scattered showers
Saturday: Scattered to numerous showers. High in the low 80s.
Have a great day!
