Police: 5-year-old girl drowns in neighborhood pool

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say a five-year-old girl has died after drowning in a neighborhood pool in southwest Charlotte. It happened around 5:00 Wednesday afternoon on Newbridge Road, off Shopton Road West.

MEDIC transported the little girl with life-threatening injuries and she was pronounced dead at the hospital.

There’s no word if anyone will face charges.
