Investiture Ceremony held Friday for U.S. Attorney Russ Ferguson

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Newly sworn-in U.S. Attorney Russ Ferguson is reflecting on the major responsibilities and stresses that come with the position. Following an investiture ceremony in Charlotte Friday surrounded by friends and colleagues, Ferguson highlighted the power of the office to bring leaders together to make communities safer.

He says while the job is stressful, it can also be very rewarding. Ferguson says, “It brings incredible joy to see the faces of people you’re helping. And there’s a lot of sad moments in this job. You’re dealing with victims of crime. That’s never a fun thing. But to see the good things happen in those stories, to see the streets safer, to see things that are prevented, which you don’t always see is such a joy. And a joy to talk about it today.”

While the past year has been extremely busy with major criminal investigations, Ferguson hopes the lawsuits and investigations eventually decrease.
