New expedition to search for Amelia Earhart plane

Friday marked Amelia Earhart’s 129th birthday and several organizations have announced they will launch an expedition to try to find her lost plane.

It will take place in October.

The search will include an exploration of a lagoon on a patch of coral in the Pacific Ocean.

Earhart and her navigator, Fred Noonan, disappeared 89 years ago while attempting to circumnavigate the globe.
