ASU offers influencer degree
Arizona State is adding a new major for the next generation of influencers.
The program will be offered at ASU’s Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
It will teach students how to create content, build an audience, and market themselves across social media platforms. Students will also learn to analyze performance data and develop strategies to grow their reach.
Supporters say the degree gives aspiring creators practical skills to build successful careers online.
“They learn how to measure content performance across multiple platforms,” Jessica Pucci, Senior Associate Dean at Cronkite School, said. “They learn how to create strategies to improve and also test their content.”
For a final project, students will pick a platform, create content throughout the semester, and demonstrate real audience growth.
