HICKORY, NC — A 56-year-old Conover man is in critical condition after he collided with another vehicle while riding his moped.
Police say Rolland Mock was riding his 2013 Tao-Tao moped late Thursday afternoon when he collided with 33-year-old Tatiana Alsono-Contado’s 2014 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The accident happened at the intersection of 18th Avenue NE and McDonald Parkway NE.
Mock was airlifted to CMC with critical injuries.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but police say speed is not believed to be a factor. Check back for updates.
