Missing Catawba County woman’s body found in wooded area

Investigators in Catawba County say they have found the body of missing woman Robin Doyle and charged the man they named as a person of interest.

New leads took detectives to a wooded area in the northeastern part of the county where the body was found Friday afternoon.

Doyle vanished from her Hickory home on Monday. 

Convicted kidnapper Leroy Loper is charged with felony murder, first-degree kidnapping, and concealment of death. Loper is a registered sex offender and is in custody on unrelated violations.
