SALISBURY, NC — Police have one person in custody after a woman was shot in the stomach Wednesday afternoon.
Police say the shooting happened around 5:45pm at the Brookview Apartments on S. Martin Luther King Boulevard. Responding officers found the victim, Felicia Martin, 53, with a gunshot wound to the stomach.
Martin was treated on scene before being taken to Novant Rowan Helipad and airlifted to NC Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem for treatment.
Police say the suspect was still on scene when they arrived. The suspect was taken into custody, and is currently being questioned by detectives.
