Body Of Missing South Charlotte Man Found

CMPD says the body of Charles Pfeiler was found early Tuesday morning. At this time, investigators say they do not suspect foul play but the investigation is ongoing.

The cause of death has not yet been released.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Emergency crews have resumed searching for 48-year-old Charles Pfeiler who disappeared last Wednesday evening. Investigators say they received new evidence which prompted the renewed search.

Charles Mathis Pfeiler was last seen leaving his home on Ashton Gate Drive – in the Landsdowne neighborhood near Charlotte Christian School on Sardis Road, in south Charlotte to ride his bike at about 5:45pm Wednesday, July 18th. Family members alerted police to his disappearance around 8:43pm when he failed to return. McAlpine Creek Greenway is also nearby and popular with cyclists.

Officials say Pfeiler was riding a grey Trek mountain style bicycle. He is described as a white male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 195 pounds, brown eyes, and bald head.
