CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Heavy rain and storms are taking over the Charlotte area.
And with that, comes soggy, wet roads and lots of accidents.
Duke Power and Tree Removal responded around 2 a.m. to to E. W. T. Harris between Sharon Amity and The Plaza to remove a tree that was blocking the roadway.
A car struck the tree after it had fell. No injuries were reported.
Several agencies are working to reopen the road.
If you plan to go out today, drive slow and be cautious of your surroundings.
A flash flood watch is in place until midnight. Expect more unsettled weather and heavy rain and storms.
