UCSO: Man had child sex abuse material “so disturbing, it impacted…our most experienced detectives”

WINGATE, N.C. – A Wingate man is behind bars after authorities say they received tips regarding possible child sexual abuse material being uploaded through a social media platform.

41-year-old Morgan Taylor is charged with 10 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

According to the Union County Sheriff’s Office, this is his third time being arrested on similar charges. The Sheriff’s Office says, “Taylor has a known history and was previously arrested by Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office in 2024 and by the Union County Sheriff’s Office in 2025 on similar charges.”

The Union County Sheriff’s Office says the material was so disturbing, that it impacted some of the Office’s most experienced detectives who regularly investigate these types of cases.
