CMS Board to vote Tuesday on whether to release findings of its investigation into Supt. Crystal Hill

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Nearly 140,00 students in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools are getting ready to head back to the classroom on Tuesday. Also back on the job is superintendent Dr. Crystal Hill, after a three month investigation into what the school board called “administrative and operational issues” with her.

In a newly released video, Dr. Hill thanked the district’s dedicated employees who spent the summer months preparing classrooms, planning transportation routes, and strengthening curriculum. She says, “The 2026-27 school year will bring new opportunities to learn, lead, discover, and achieve. Together, we will continue creating safe, engaging, and inspiring environments where every student can thrive.”

On Tuesday night, the school board is expected to vote on whether to make the findings of their investigation into Hill public.
