Sheriff deputy injured in mutli-car crash

CORNELIUS, N.C.- A Mecklenburg county sheriff deputy is injured after crashing his cruiser into a tree Wednesday morning.

The crash happened Main Street in Cornelius. It involved several other vehicles and a tree appears to have crashed down onto that sheriff’s cruiser.

Investigators say a deputy lost control of his vehicle while attempting to avoid a collision.

The sheriff’s office tells WCCB the deputy is currently in stable condition.
