SALISBURY, NC — A section of Sherrills Ford Road was closed for nearly two hours Thursday after one person was killed in a head on collision.
The accident happened around 4:15pm on Sherrills Ford near Long Branch Road. Investigators say a man driving a compact car crossed the center line and hit a tractor trailer head on.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead on the scene. His name has not been released.
Troopers are still trying to determine what caused the crash, and say they do not yet know if weather was a factor.
