Iredell Co. Sheriff’s Office charges parents in death of 3 month old baby

IREDELL CO., N.C. – Kendal Hayes and Glenn Delgreco II are now charged with first-degree murder in the death of their three-month-old infant daughter. Iredell County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home on Brawley School Road in May.

Investigators say the infant had lost one-third of her body weight since birth and lacked critical medical care. A new autopsy officially ruled the infant’s death a homicide, caused by severe protein-calorie malnutrition due to neglect.

The infant’s grandparents, Alice and Thomas Evans, also face felony child abuse and aiding and abetting charges. Both parents are being held at the Iredell County Detention Center with no bond.
